What Ehfina does inside Claude

When you connect Ehfina to Claude, your assistant gains access to your personal taste profile through a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector. This means Claude can:

  • Suggest restaurants and dishes based on your established preferences
  • Record dining experiences and preferences you share
  • Build an increasingly accurate picture of your tastes over time
  • Factor in preferences from your sharing groups when relevant

Ehfina does not access your Claude conversation history. Only the specific data exchanged through individual tool calls is transmitted to Ehfina.

Authentication

Ehfina uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE for secure authentication. When you first connect, you'll be redirected to Ehfina's authorization page to sign in and grant permission. Access tokens are short-lived and can be revoked at any time.

Official MCP endpoint

The only official Ehfina MCP endpoint is:

https://api.ehfina.com/mcp

If you encounter Ehfina being served from any other URL, it is not official and should not be trusted. Contact security@ehfina.com immediately.

How to connect (Beta)

Ehfina for Claude is in closed beta. Use the manual connector setup:

  1. Open Claude and navigate to Settings > Connectors
  2. Select "Add remote connector" or "Custom MCP connector"
  3. Enter the official Ehfina endpoint: https://api.ehfina.com/mcp
  4. Give the connector a name (e.g., "Ehfina")
  5. Save the connector configuration
  6. When you first use an Ehfina tool, you'll be prompted to authorize — follow the OAuth flow to sign in

How to disconnect

  1. Open Claude settings
  2. Navigate to Connectors or integrations
  3. Find the Ehfina connector and remove it

Disconnecting stops future tool calls but does not delete your Ehfina data.

Known behavior

  • After tool list changes, Claude requires a full disconnect/reconnect to pick up new tools
  • Some Claude plans may limit the number of tool calls per conversation
  • Claude may occasionally not call Ehfina tools even when helpful — try rephrasing your request

Troubleshooting

  • Connector not appearing: Verify you've entered the correct endpoint URL
  • Authorization expired: Disconnect and reconnect the connector
  • Tools not updating: After tool list changes, Claude requires a full disconnect/reconnect to pick up new tools

What information is shared

When Claude calls an Ehfina tool, only the specific data needed for that call is transmitted. Ehfina does not receive your full Claude conversation, unrelated chat messages, or any data you haven't explicitly shared through a tool call.
